This community service program aimed to enhance the sewing skills of members of the Bundokanduang Gonjong Limo Women's Organization in Dumai City by introducing a machine-free songket sewing technique using fabric adhesive. The program was initiated in response to the high cost of professional tailoring services, which significantly increased organizational expenses, while most members lacked sewing skills and access to sewing equipment. The implementation method consisted of preparation, short theoretical explanation, live demonstration, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation. The activity involved 25 participants and applied a participatory, practice-oriented approach. The results indicated that all participants successfully produced an initial songket piece with neatly finished edges using fabric adhesive. Participants perceived the method as simpler, more practical, and cost-efficient compared to machine sewing. The training effectively improved participants’ independence, reduced reliance on professional tailors, and created opportunities for small-scale creative enterprises based on traditional craftsmanship.
